A Bridge to Tarabithia
Instead I'll go with "Drive" starring Ryan Gosling, which looked like a member of the Transporter-type genre, and instead turned out to be another masturbatory Hollywood creative-type's indulgent examination of the by now cliched scorpion-and-the-toad fable.
For movie posters, I'd go with "The Secret" starring David Duchovny & Olivia Thirlby, which looked like some sort of body-snatching horror film, but instead was a sappy family drama about a mother & daughter's relationship, where the mother finally understands the daughter by living her life. Like Freaky Friday, but less intelligent and more pretentious.
"Splice" was another one, though I don't recall what promotional materials misled me. I do remember thinking it was going to be a frankensteinesque horror film, and instead got a geneticist's perverted sex fantasy.

That actually looked like it would be disappointing when I watched the trailer. *NM*
