From the people I have talked to the overall mystery and trying to figure that mystery out was the best part of lost. I mean if I had watched it that would be what I would have watched it for...that was certainly what I watched BSG for. Yes people didn't like the ending because it had the audacity to put religon and spirituality in a science fiction show but to my mind that is ridiculous. These things are not polar opposites and can work quite well together (as they did in BSG yes I know that is not an opinion agreed on here). Still I don't have time for another show so i won't be checking it out.
