So, modern humans made Earth disgusting. So they decide to plant a colony in Earth's past?
We've never seen any evidence of that in the fossil record. So either the colony is going flourish, change the timeline, and drastically alter the evolution of humanity, or it's going to fail and never be seen again.
Edit- apparently it's a past in an alternate dimension? So, that's OK, then.
