he ain't spitting in anyone's face (except Sebastian Shaw's)

Its the fans spitting in his.
I've been a massive fan of all things Star Wars since the late 70s, and I could care less if he chooses to make changes to his movies in subsequent releases on different mediums.
The fanboy reaction to the changes he makes is embarrassing, as it shows that too many fanboys get upset over the stupidest things.
For the record, the only two changes that have ever really bothered me were 1) the new musical number in Jabba's Palace for the Special Edition of RotJ, and the use of Hayden Christianson as the ghost of Anakin at the end of RotJ.
The musical number was cheesy, and replacing Mr. Shaw was just disrespectful of a man who had passed away.
What really gets me is people complaining about the addition of the Jabba scene in Ep IV. I don't get why that upsets people, as that scene had been part of the story for decades, it had just been cut from the original film. I remember as a little kid (4 or 5 years old) being puzzled why I could remember that scene (as well as scenes with Biggs Darklighter and Luke on Tatooine) but couldn't find it in the movie. It wasn't until I pulled out my old over sized comic adaptation of the movie that I realized those scenes were in there. They were written, and filmed, but cut because he was unable to do the scenes the way he wanted (due to budget and technology of the time).
The whole thing with Han shooting first is just silly to me. So what if Han shoots first. And so what if Greedo shoots first. Neither really changes Han's personality and roguishness at all.
I'm not saying I agree with every choice Lucas made in the movies (I was really annoyed with the Vader screaming NO at the end of RotS), but for millions of nerds who feel they must complain to bitch and whine about it all really annoys me.

So everytime he spits in their face, I think they have a right to be pissed off.
Death to the Regressives of the GOP and the TeaParty. No mercy for Conservatives. Burn them all at the stake for the hateful satanists they are.

Do you mean VHS? Or perhaps you don't equate "Original" to what the rest of us do.

I'm pretty sure that Han shoots first in the DVDs we have, but I'll have to check.

Which is weird, considering how many want the original only. *NM*

I don't think anyone believed the marketing ploy of "these will never be available again". *NM*

There is a lot there that wouldn't have occurred to me, I can admit that.

The answer is to ignore the Blu-Ray release and buy the 2006 release instead.
