Any other tVD fans out there? Last night's season premiere was pretty good, I thought. This show has a reputation for starting slow and building insane momentum that results in ritual blood sacrifices and mass murder, so in the grand scheme of things I thought last night's installment wasn't half bad.

Ripper Stefan is a lot worse than I imagined. The dude is seriously dark, and the actor's portrayal of him as an addict is pretty compelling. It makes every other scene where he was struggling to stay on the wagon that much more complex.

So Klaus is going to start his own group? What was the point in tracking down that particular werewolf? Was there something special about him, or was it because he had info on other members of his pack?

Alaric has always kind of annoyed me. I get that he stayed around to help out Elena, but I'm glad he's gone.

Jeremy sees dead people and smoked pot to make them go away. Who doesn't?

The Caroline/Matt scenes were good - I dig these two as sexually tense friends.

Damon as the reluctant hero is a decent spin on the character, but I worry it's going to get old fast.
