The idea of Cumberbatch as a spy appeals to me quite a bit, and that is one hell of an impressive list of actors. And I rather like John Le Carré (although I haven't read that book, which is probably something I should remedy). Seriously: Oldman, Firth, Strong, Jones, Hinds and Hurt. And Benedict Cumberbatch in a three piece suit. I would pay a lot of money for that.
That cast is amazing. I am seriously hopeful for it.
I must say I am also intrigued by this Edwardian project.
As am I.
And I am shocked and appalled that the rioters attacked the Sherlock set. I mean, looting, burning things down, fine. You don't do bad things to Sherlock.
That is certainly the behaviour of scoundrels, not mere riotous youth.
Also, I watched the Stephen Hawking drama he was in recently. It was an outstanding performance.
