Honestly, its Seinfeld, of all things, that's been ruined (well, affected) for me. beetnemesis Send a noteboard - 29/07/2011 02:25:55 PM
Seinfeld was an awesome, hilarious show. However, it is INCREDIBLE how dated it is. Cell phones would solve about half of the show's plots, right away (lost in a parking garage, waiting for people, needing directions, and so on).

There's no internet, and Jerry's stand-up just feels... old.

What's strange is that I watch older shows constantly, with similar issues, and it doesn't hit me nearly as hard. I think it's because Seinfeld always came off as "hip" and "modern"; it was a new type of sitcom, drastically different in tone and execution in a lot of ways from its predecessors. So it has this whole "Hey, we're new and modern!" attitude, but the show has become so dated that it's a little uncomfortable. It's like Seinfeld is in its own little Uncanny Valley of relevance.
I amuse myself.
