I didn't read it like that at all. They chose Cap to join the army despite of his lack of strength because of his ambition and morals. He said something like "I don't wanna kill anyone. I just don't like bullies", which I found to be such a refreshing take, instead of the usual "proud to die for your country"-crap.
Well, I haven't seen it yet (going tonight!


But, I have already accepted that I'm going to have to sit through yet another helping of Hollywood History if I want to enjoy the rest of what this movie has to offer, so I can definitely live with it. I'll just roll my eyes at the appropriate times
