Yeah, there are a bunch of well known, or moderately well known, names in that list, but to be honest if even only 2 or 3 of them ended up in the roles I hope for, I'll be ecstatic.


I've recently seen some articles online hinting that Eccleston might actually be in negotiations for one of the roles in season 2, but no information as to which (though the rumor mills are all saying Stannis). I really hope it isn't Stannis. Somehow he just doesn't fit that role for me. But like I said, I haven't seen him in much other than "Heroes" and maybe an episode of "Dr. Who" that he had done (I almost never watched that show, except for a handful of episodes I recall with David Tenant). I know he is immensely popular right now for the role of Stannis, so if he is cast, it probably will be.

As to Melisandre, I still have no clue. Looks wise I always thought Elizabeth Hurley would work, but I don't think she has much in the way of acting skills (she's always seemed just a pretty face with no talent to me).
