I rate this as possibly the worst example of a hollywood movie of all time.

Also you beat me to the review by an hour damn you *shakes fist*.
My thoughts on the 1st 2 movies - Number 1 wasn't what i'd hoped it would be, it had changed too much from my childhood. But it was still a decent movie, and pretty good as summer blockbusters go. The 2nd was terrible, if watchable, so much potential so little result.
Then we get to this Bay's big finale, the end of the trilogy. And it pulls a Matrix on us, no it's worse than that, it's Matrix Revolutions on steroids of shitness. It's an absolute travesty, it is hollywood at it's absolute worst, that leaves you pining for hollywood at it's best.
I cannot believe you are praising the actions sequences, oh there may be a few good shots, but by in large it's messy, unfocussed, makes no sense, has no purpose, confused, badly shot, horribly paced and overblown.
As for 3D, well this is where it gets interesting, because I went to a 2D showing since I pretty much loathe 3D. And let me tell you, those deliberately shot for 3D scenes which Bay felt a need to cram in, are AWFUL in 2D, it's not that you can't see the 3D, it's that you CAN see it, and what it's done to the flow of the scene. Ruined it. This movie is like a wander through Bays mind, you can almost see his thought processs as he's gone - "hrmm, not done 3D for a while, better squeeze something in, were am I on the script? Meh, who cares, lets do some slow mo and flying anyway, even if it makes no sense and serves no purpose and destroys the scene flow"
The whole movie is preposterous, and yes I am aware of how silly that sounds when i'm talking about giant space robots fighting over the earth...but it's still true and that is how bad this is. It's a $200M heap of steaming dog turd.
The good stuff? Well Rosie Huntington-Whitelys (can i just say Jasons missus it's easier) legs and tits are pretty decent and the many lingering shots were pretty good. Also there is a bit more humour in this one and most of it works...and that's it.
I have to admit i'm ashamed and embarrased to have given Bay money by going to see this. And I applaud the half dozen people (out of about 40) who left my screening before the end, just walked out. I didn't i suffered to the end, which was mostly met with disbelieving laughter and relief that it was over from all.
I know i'm not going to stop anyone going to see this, it's almost going to be a right of passage - "Where were you when they finally killed off our childhood memories?". But for your own sake, for movie everywheres sake, give it a miss if you can. Now excuse me while i go borrow that eternal sunshine machine and wipe this evening from my memories...

The second one was so bad that I do not want to see the third one. This franchise is dead to me. *NM*
