The final scene was done very well IMO DrJacJacMcScrumptious Send a noteboard - 14/06/2011 01:20:17 AM
Well, so to those few of you here who haven't read the books. SURPRISE!! Welcome to the wonderful world of GRR Martin. In another forum, someone mentioned they had heard that Jon was even a more major character than Eddard Stark. I spent a good ten minutes laughing at my keyboard after reading that...oh to have been watching this with someone who hadn't read the books. I am so looking forward to the reactions in media and elsewhere. HA! Going to be so good seeing how this is covered to heh.

So what did everyone think? I thought it was done really well, I had forgotten that he saw Sansa before he died and then didn't see her. That was done very well I thought and pulled on the heart strings. His son needs to learn how to do an after battle speech though...yes let them know that the war is far from over but do let them have their fun. I thought showing sansa having to hunt for food was also done well...and man can the kid they have playing Geoffrey act like a little shit well! God I wanted to twist his little neck. Can't wait to see how they progress his character and if they leave in all the scenes from the second and third books...God I can't wait.

A shame they decided to omit the whole last chance to show Jaime fighting and not being held to a draw by a 50 year Ned Stark with no reason to still be training or fighting when his sole job is to be a professional killing machine, one whose ability to fight is a keystone in the protection of the king. Say goodbye to any feasibility in Jaime and thus Brienne's storylines then- all they needed was about 20 men, 4 minutes and a dark bloody wood but they spent the budget on Tyrion's bloody stupid drinking game with the very sexy an yet for me physically impossible to fall for new version of psycho-ignore the fact I'm talking to a lord- Shae.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - Jaime being a swordsman is an integral part of his character that affects his decision making, relationships and interactions with others, entire outlook and characterisation. Ned's just gave Sean Bean fans an artificial moment if non-canonical joy which was both unrealistic and derailed multiple character arcs whilst adding nothing of value and diminishing the values of Ned's moral fibre, tactical acumen and, you know, things that are important for his character and his role. As well as reducing the importance of Bean's excellent acting. I'm so upset.
And the answer came to her instantly: pride. Oh, you hear them say it's a sin; you hear them say it goes before a fall. the shepherd prides himself on keeping the wolf out from the flock. We pride ourselves on making a good history of our lives, a good story to be told.
