and let me tell you that I felt/feel exactly as you about this film. "Trepidation" seems the word for it.
However, I know that Vaughn wanted to re-imagine the X-Men with a different origin story, but with the core intact. X-Men comics is full of retcons and continuity errors on its own, and what Vaughn is doing with the movie is not that bad compared to some of the stuff that the comics lets happen.
I like that the Hellfire Club is the villain. I like that Banshee and even Beast were included. However, I feel that adding Havoc was unnecessary. I know I will hate it if they make Havoc Cyke's dad or somesuch.
In the end though, I think the movie will be a hit. Great actors on board; I'm a big fan of James McAvoy.
