Well it was a big improvement over this writer's previous episode Mark Send a noteboard - 22/05/2011 06:55:28 PM
Fear Her from S2 was particularly bad. I felt this was a decent episode and will wait till next week before I make up my mind.

What do you think the "gamechanging cliffhanger" will be? With only one episode to go before the mid-season hiatus (a bad idea if ever I heard one), it seems to be the pertinent question.

I imagine it will be in some way connected to the Doctor's new doppelganger. Do you think it will look like he dies? Something else?

Well the obvious answer is that it will have something to do with the Doctor's doppelganger, so considering how things seem to work that is probably a red herring.

My guess is that the original Doctor seems to die, with the doppelgänger taking over his role. However unbeknownst to the other characters the Doctor actually survives and it is him we see in the space suit killing the doppelgänger Doctor at the start of the season.

Any thoughts about the latest episode?

As I said it seems a good episode but I will wait until I see the next episode to make up my mind. It seems to be about the origins of the Sontarans, but that could be another misdirection.

The thing is that the Doctor seemed to know beforehand what was going to happen (or roughly so), and was trying to offload Amy and Rory before dealing with it. He also tried to avoid it happening by moving the humans off the island before the storm hit.

Also is Rory a human or an Auton? He could have been recreated as a human with the second big bang but then he would surely lack his Auton memories. And if he is an Auton how could he get Amy pregnant? Perhaps he co-exists as both an Auton and as a Human and that explains how Amy is both pregnant and not pregnant.
