I think the conversation was written to show that any child by Robert and Cersei would look more like Robert (she refers to the babe as a black haired beauty). Makes Jon Arryn's suspicions about the living royal children even stronger. And notice that her child by Robert (in the show) died of a fever that "burned through him" much like what happened to Jon Arryn? Poison is a woman's weapon in Westeros.
The whole conversation does make Cersei more evil.
