Or was that for last season?
Maybe? Weren't there cybermen last season as well? Certainly in the season finale, but then everyone was there.
Stephen Moffat has said that one of the Doctor's group of four (Doctor, Amy, Rory, River) will die (my money is on River, even if that breaks with the timeline which was set up in the Library.
Well they already killed Rory last season, so it would be kind of silly to kill him again so quickly. I wonder who Amy is shooting in the new trailer. I reckon that the victim will be the cast member to "die" and it will form the mid season cliffhanger, with the character not actually dying in the end.
Moffat did say that this time it was proper dying. Really dead-dead. Or at least that is who I interpreted it.
Hmm, he certainly made it clear that it would be a proper death, but I just don't believe him.
Ah.
I doubt that they are going to kill either the Doctor or Amy. It would seem rather a waste to kill off River after doing so much to build up the character (not to mention the fact that Moffat has already killed her). Rory is the most logical choice to be killed from a plot point of view (he doesn't really offer much as a companion and I can't imagine that he would just be left somewhere as his wife travels the universe with another man), but I feel it may be a little dark to kill Amy's husband, plus they already killed him just last season.
I agree. On all counts. They have to get rid of River at some point, but I am not sure killing her is the way to go, because of the Library. Killing the Doctor would not actually be killing, though; and I doubt Matt Smith is ready to leave the role. I hope they do not pull another of the "I am regenerating into myself" things -- it worked once, it won't work again. So if the Doctor is going to get killed, it will have to be a double or some such.
My crazy theory, Amy appears to kill the Doctor and River takes the blame.
Ah, you think that is why she was in prison last time we saw her?
I think it was strongly implied that she killed The Doctor, but that could just be a red herring.
Yes.
Apparently the Silents are also the "scariest opener to any Doctor Who series yet" (this worries me).
They seem to be upping the scary quotient this series.
Indeed. I am glad I saw this trailer when there was light outside.
And we are also informed that "the new series will feature guest appearances from Downton Abbey star Hugh Bonneville, David Walliams, James Corden, Lily Cole, and the voice of Michael Sheen, as well as the return of one of the doctor's most enduring foes, the Cybermen".
I really wish the cybermen could get a break. But I am excited.
I share both sentiments.
I've linked to the new trailer below. My favourite part
voice (possibly Silence): Fear me, I've killed hundreds of Timelords
Doctor: Fear me, I've killed all of them.
That was nice. I wonder if the screaming they do is a way of warding off the silents? If noise drives them off, I imagine they will have met their match in the Doctor.
If noise scares them off, then it would be rather handy to be armed with a sonic screwdriver.
Hehehehe. Indeed.
