Huh, I'd do the opposite: see a show in that language with subtitles in a language I know.
Rather easier to watch some English-spoken DVD that I want to watch anyway and use the Arabic (or other) subtitles. The opposite would admittedly be a better exercise, but much harder to get hold of, and there aren't as many movies/shows in Arabic that I want to see.

I prefer subtitles because they tend to stay as close to the original artistic intent as possible
