It shows a commitment and cunning that I can respect.

Although the way he trumps himself up is surprising and maybe off-putting. Logically, if the guy's got as much power as he says, how isn't he just running London?

Smaller might be better, especially since this means he can kill Holmes any time he wants. Our hero's only way of stopping Moriarty is to catch him, kill him, or live his life completely differently. At least, it is if Moriarty is so connected...
