thats the death of good Science Fiction on television

CAPRICA and SGU were the only two non-CAMP, non-CHEESE SF shows airing this past year on any television network. And with both of them being cancelled, we no longer have any serious shows left in the genre until GAME OF THRONES starts (and honestly, that is not even SF, but fantasy, so it doesn't really count).
Now, the best shows one can hope to watch (within the genre at least) are EUREKA and WAREHOUSE 13. Unfortunately, neither show takes itself seriously, nor are they meant to be taken seriously. They are more camp and cheese than honest to the gods decent SF with real thought to them.
What is it about being a network executive that causes people to lose what brain cells they were born with? Is it wearing a tie to work? Getting a large salary? What is it?
Of course, the whiny fans of the original two SG shows didn't help either. They just couldn't figure out how to get into an INTELLIGENT show with quality acting and writing; they wanted more of the corny jokes and cardboard acting that we got for more than a decade from the other two SG shows.

I love that show! I really hope somebody else picks it up if possible. Anybody else here watch Stargate Universe?
Death to the Regressives of the GOP and the TeaParty. No mercy for Conservatives. Burn them all at the stake for the hateful satanists they are.
Syfy is canceling SGU

I'm a little disappointed. I do like the show, but hopefully they'll have a satisfying conclusion. *NM*

I watch. I've spent most of the day since the anouncement on the gateworld messageboard.

I would have "officially" watched it more if they'd played nicer with Hulu.

frak Hulu, just torrent the stuff you want to see but don't watch when it is aired *NM*

That's why I wasn't "official." If Syfy makes it inconvenient to watch, we aren't counted.

My problem was the use of the name Stargate.

And the cameos of Daniel Jackson, General O'neil, Carter... nothing at all SG.

Point is, that it's still a Stargate show, simply with a different flavour. *NM*
