Because I think happens a lot. And not with crappy movies either. I was half in love with the Dark Knight trailer, but the movie was only okay. Likewise when the Star Trek 2009 trailer(s) were there, I found them better than the movie. (Though the movie was awesome).

But I found the Dark Knight trailer rather weak compared to the end result.
The Superman Returns trailer was one that gave me goosebumps, although I ended up liking the film, too.
Clash of the Titans looked better in the trailer than it was.

Is it just me, or is the trailer sometimes better than the movie?

Well, the trailer is there to sell the movie, so it is not really all that odd? *NM*
