They heap these movies toward us like we're a bunch of slavering action bikini addicts. Some of us are, I suppose, but the rest of us deserve a little more credit. Or maybe they'll get a clue and raise the bar if we stop giving them ticket sales. I don't know. This is why I'll skip this, while Inception had me in the theater three times. (albeit once in a $1.75 joint)
I agree with you that certain types of movies are being over done, given the commercial success of similar films. The superhero flicks are a good example of this to me. Spidey 3 and X-men 3 are awesome examples of it, in my mind. I still want to *selectively* see some of these, because I enjoy them for what they are. I was just bracing myself for an attack on my excitement for Tranformers 3. I have a soft spot for those movies, despite their short comings.
Doesn't mean it's all I want to see, like you said. Unfortunately, I have yet to see Inception and it's not in the theater here anymore.
I don't pretend to judge the full movie's quality or the entire taste of those who want to see it. Just throwing out some impressions from the trailer, is all.
I have my doubts about it too, but would still like to check it out. Will likely be a rental for me, unless the reviews are fairly positive or people I know tend to like it.
New "Sucker Punch" trailer blows your head off!

Yep. An asylum filled with models, crazy slow-mo action scenes, etc. Over the top.

I definitely got you, but I had totally forgotten about the Sly arm wrestling movie.

Didn't mean to sound attacking. I'm in that demographic, too. I just grow... weary of the usual.
