it is the episode where Cordelia comes into her own, I feel. Of course, it is a gradual process, but that one is rather a big step. What with appearing to be human, not to mention driving through to the Library.
Long, long evolution from there to her great final scene in Angel S5 (yes, as I said, just watched that - for the first time ever, actually). It's definitely the part where she joins the Scoobies for real - and then ditches them again iirc? Just to make clear she's not turned into their best friend all of a sudden. Typical Whedon, that.
Hmm. I remember not approving of Cordelia's evolution in Angel. But I don't remember why. I have only seen it once, and it's been a few years now.
