WARNING SPOILERS BELOW!
I saw it a little early (one of the perks of working at a theater, I suppose).
I could definitely tell it wasn't for kids when you see three dead bodies in the first five minutes of the movie. The animation was awesome, and I liked all the action in it. It was cool how the machine like made the flying machine attack and when that failed it made the snake machine. My friend thought the snake machine was similar to Medusa, which I could sorta see since it made them freeze.
I was a little confused by the ending though. I thought the point of getting the souls back was that they could bring back the ones that had been killed, but instead their souls just went to heaven. And what was the point of the machine taking the souls in? Just to power it up? I almost thought it was trying to collect the souls to become more human, since it's mentioned that was what the machine was missing.

I wanted to write about it yesterday, but I felt like crap when I got home. (no spoilers)

I thought it was PG-13 mainly to dissuade parents from taking the younger kids...
