Movie ticket prices in NYC are fucked up.

AMC theaters: $6 for matinee shows, $13 regular

Regal theaters: $9 for matinee, $13 regular

There are more AMC theaters in the city. Regal is mostly in the other Burroughs. Many people use public transportation to go to theaters. $4.50 metro fare, roundtrip. I don't understand why people go to Regal theaters at all when they are charging so much more for their tickets.
