I dunno, but I'm sure they'll find a way around it. Darth_Katie Send a noteboard - 24/07/2010 03:43:57 PM
So, we all know that Time Lords only get 12 regenerations, right? At least, that's what wikipedia says (because of the Master). So what happens when we get to the thirteenth Doctor? Thirteen because of the first Doctor, plus twelve regenerations, of course.

Do we get a reboot? Some sort of magical snake spell like in the movie? Some other weird timey-wimey thing? Moffat's keen to keep reminding us of the last eleven Doctors, so this stuff with Amy can't have reset him back to zero. Can it?

No way they'd just pack up and end the show because of Doctor #12 wants to quit. Not after this long.

Dealing with the whole issue actually sounds like something that would be good fodder for a season finale or some such thing, but I don't think there's really any way to know until it happens. It seems to me that Doctor Who writers don't really have trouble contradicting themselves and changing the rules, after all, so I don't think it'll be too much of a problem.

I think The Master was given (or offered?) an extra set of regenerations. - 24/07/2010 07:03:47 PM 676 Views
Only because he had a non-Time Lord body at the time. - 26/07/2010 04:41:09 PM 445 Views
