Northern Irish actor Conleth Hill has been cast as the eunuch Varys in GAME OF THRONES. You probably haven't heard of Hill, who is a well-regarded, multi-award-winning stage actor who has only recently been branching into TV and film, appearing in last year's requisitely weak Woody Allen movie and some recent British TV shows.
It's also been confirmed that Jamie Campbell Bower, a young actor with a rising star following roles in HARRY POTTER and TWILIGHT, has been replayed by newcomer Rob Ostlere as Ser Waymar Royce. HBO have decided to reshoot the prologue sequence and Bower is unavailable, as he is too busy filming the new King Arthur TV series CAMELOT (he plays King Arthur, so presumably has a heavy workload in it) down the road in Dublin.
GRRM has hinted at three more imminent casting announcements.
