but that entertainment can come from movies of many different qualities, so I do end up enjoying movies that aren't considered "good" by critics.

I think it comes down to what you get enjoyment from. I can understand the nerd-rage felt by fans of the show, but that doesn't make it a "bad movie".

And really, I learned a long time ago that just because critics hate a movie doesn't necessarily mean I will. I've enjoyed a lot of movies they didn't (most recently, Prince of Persia).

but yah. it may not be worth the cinema ticket to you, but I do think the effects wouldn't be as fun to watch on a small screen.
