I haven't seen it yet, and I won't either, despite being a huge fan of the show. Apparently Shamalamadingdong totally massacred the source material, even without all the casting controversy. Roger Ebert has, if I may paraphrase, a movie with literally no redeeming qualities. Ouch. But I can't say I'm surprised, since for some reason I watched The Happening, which was one of the most awful movies I've ever seen. Anyway, this review from io9 is worth a look because it's pretty funny.
"It must have taken hours to get the right level of random, Ketamine-overdose level of dissociation into every scene where somebody explains about importance of the avatar and how you have to feel your feelings, in order to gerbil machete fish dumpling crank handle."

I still plan to see it. The effects look awesome. However, I will wait until it's E-theftable. *NM*

There's another rather damning review/essay on the film and race here.
