It seems like they just keep bringing the White Witch back no matter what. I guess they just think she was soooo good of a villain (though I don't think she was) that they need to incorporate her into every film. bah.
You're right about the plot problems, though. Voyage is just that - a voyage. they sail, they find stuff, they move on. The only goal is finding out what happened to the lost lords and finding Aslan's Country.

She was badass. But you're right, they shouldn't try to shoe horn her in where she doesn't belong.
I think they're going to manufacture some sort of overarching goal that is a little more dramatic for the movie. We'll see.
Oh, and another thing that was weird ... they hardly even showed Caspian at all in the trailer, which I thought was very weird since he's definitely a major character. It's his voyage, for goodness sake. Strange.
