i took my glasses off several times during the opening of avatar and either the foreground or background was out of focus without the glasses, depending on which part of the scene was being 3D'd. there was a definite difference between non-glasses and glasses during every scene in the movie.
I saw the 3D film. I took the glasses off and saw a VERY slight blur with the background, but it was nothing that would prevent me from watching the movie that way. It just looked like the background was slightly out of focus. When I put the glasses back on it just brought the background into focus. It did not make the background seem like it had more depth or anything.
Kirk: Spock, you want to know something? Everybody’s human.
Spock: I find that remark…insulting.

I haven't seen anything in 3D since 3rd Rock From the Sun had an episode.

Interesting. I thought I was the only one who didn't care about 3-D.

3D is terrible and needs to die in a fire.

You make it sound like the studios aren't ramming it down our throats at every possible turn.

Luckily if you have a movie theater with many screens you can get it 2D.
