There's a difference between a movie in 3D, and a 3D movie

Avatar is the only- ONLY- movie I've seen where the 3D was done beautifully and organically.
Everything else, it's just like maybe the picture is bulging a little bit, maybe someone throws a tomato at the screen and you go "WHOOOOOOA a tomato almost hit me!"
In Avatar, the picture had depth. You were looking in, instead of the picture coming out.
No other 3D movie I've seen has done it that well. It's like directors just don't know how. Unless they can do it, and fast, it will just be a gimmick.

Luckily if you have a movie theater with many screens you can get it 2D.
