I'd like to start by saying cliches exist because they work. Would it be great if you couldn't guess the way that plot point will play out? Sure, but the creative ways of doing it may not work in the context of the show. And honestly, Castle isnt a super original show. What makes it work is the cast and the endearing moments they have as well as interesting mysteries. Because let us not forget, this show is at it's heart as much a mystery program as any Angela Landsberry ever did.

Speaking of mysteries, how about that case? One of the things I love best about the show is the randomness of the cases. It makes the show really more of a mystery show than a cop show. I really enjoy humorous mysteries, I read quite a few and enjoy this as such.

I think a lot of the cleverness that you seem to be missing in the relationship of Castle and Beckett gets put in to the story lines, which is where it should be. I think that Castle and Beckett are great characters, but I dont watch it because I want them to date. I like watching them work.

And how cool would that Spyventures thing be? if it were real and I could afford it, that would be a vacation I would jump to take.

But back to your points:

Come to find out, Beckett (in another convenient plot point) already has plans to go away for the weekend with her new boyfriend(By the way, how does a cop have a beach house?).

Sometimes people with family money become cops. True Story.

Castle is understandbly crushed. In one of the more poignant moments in the series, he tells Beckett that this is his last case. He needs to take the summer off in order to finish his book. Beckett is visibly stunned, and one wonders how Castle doesn't notice this. Anyway, they get back to the case.

She decides to end things with said boy-toy, who looks more crushed than he should have (Really, they had no chemistry and very little screen time).

I just want to point out the chemistry thing is an acting point, not a plot point. And also, Demming knows that Castle cares for Beckett. I think his frustration and hurt are for loosing her to him. They were having fun and clearly moving the relationship to a new level with the romantic weekend away.

Kate asks, "See you in the fall?" Castle turns around and responds, "Yeah...see you in the fall." Clearly, he doesn't intend to. (Though, since we know this is a TV show, he will be back.)

Also, until that point, Castle hadn't told Beckett he'd changed his mind about being gone forevers. She's worried he won't be back and he's leaving thinking that when he comes back in teh fall she'll be firmly invested in Demming and that he's missed his chance. Castle isn't over her when he leaves, he's stepped aside to give her the chance to be happy. There's sadness and regret in that last line. For both of them.

You are my audience, always.

Bring him home. Please.
A beer for Nick? Don't mind if I do.

wotmania? Why it's our legendary home where Kory CrazedWeasel and LittleSoul yet roam. It's where I hope, in the end, to return.
