Back to the real story.
Everybody had a good cry over Sayid, Jin & Sun. They say they're going to find Desmond, but never make it there. Despite that, Desmond's well is empty. Hmm. Jacob has a pow-wow with the remaining Candidates and explains his intent. Richard gets Smoke-trained, but I doubt he's dead. (we tend to *see* deaths on this show, which is why I think Frank Lapidus will also... uh, "resurface" Ben got his revenge on Whidmore, but he still has the walkie to contact Miles, so... I think he'll do something redeeming before the end. Jack takes Jacob's job, and seems to have that same knowing look that Jacob did upon taking the job. Let's hope he can put those "I have to fix it" compulsions to good use...
In bizarro-sideways world, through an amusingly orchestrated series of events, Desmond rounds up a few more LOSTies. Jack, son and Claire looked almost *too* happy at their little breakfast. (and what was up with Jack's wound?) Is his ex-wife going to be Juliet? I'm not sure who else it could be, in terms of who we'd care about. Ana Lucia is a crooked cop, and Ben might just get together with Rousseau, which would make him Alex's REAL dad. (well, kind of... legally, at least) Locke is now convinced that he should get the surgery, and the belief-in-fate/skepticism duality with Jack is restored for the finale event.
So, upcoming events for Sunday's finale are...
On the Island:
1) Jack confronting Smokey/Locke
2) Sawyer/Kate/Hurley will likely be nearby
3) Ben might somehow betray Locke
4) Miles is somewhere
5) Richard and Frank probably aren't (quite) dead
In sideways world:
1) The concert, where most of our characters will probably collide (most importantly or emotionally, Demond & Penny)
2) Locke's surgery
3) Whatever Hurley & Sayid are doing in the yellow Hummer
Big question is... what happens when all of the survivors realize their alternate connection? Minds will be blown.

The sword might be grateful to the forge fire, but never fond of it.
