I decided to watch the Library two-parter last night, and agree with you on how much better she was in those episodes. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if they were trying to make her out to be younger and more impulsive than the professor she grows into...but over-egged it a little.
Maybe. Or maybe she felt more comfortable with Tennant than with Smith. Something is off, anyway.
900 years old or not, a Smith/Kingston match-up does seem a bit off, age-wise, and I wouldn't blame her if that affected her performance. Older-actress with younger-actor-playing-much-much-older-character has to be a difficult thing to get right.
In any event, I think this was probably my favourite episode so far, certainly better than last week's Dalek one, and Amy continues to stand head-and-shoulders above any of the other recent companions.
I agree completely.
Also of note: I thought the pictures of him in her diary explained your concerns over the regeneration issues. She evidently only met Ten once, and likely recognised him from said images, but for all she, at first, knew he could have been Twelve or Eighteen or whatever. (I assume we're doing away with the regeneration number limit these days. I'm also assuming said diary isn't the most organised when it comes to labelling faces in order. But then, could you imagine The Doctor taking the time to make sure it's all correct?)
Hmmm. Maybe. I am not convinced. It is HER diary, after all. He wouldn't have written it for her, because that would furnish HER with spoilers, so that doesn't work. She must have written it herself. He may have given her pictures, but I find that somewhat jarring as well. When would he have done that? Hmmm. I need to think about it. But it may solve the problem. Possibly. After much meditation. I can feel my brain going weird and wobbly.
Ah, yes, that's sort of what I meant. He wouldn't have gone through her diary, and certainly wouldn't have done annotations anyway. As for pictures...well, maybe if she was hanging around the TARDIS long enough she found some lying about on the computer. Very fuzzy guesswork though.
I think I'm jabbering about nothing now.
Isn't that what this site is for?
Most definitely! I also rewatched Blink (I never normally rewatch television, but it seemed appropriate) and good grief is that a good episode.

Oh, how simply grand it is to be travelling by dirigible again. Direct us to the west good sir, tonight we will remember what it is to live.

She seems as if she believes everything she says to be highly witty.

Well, that answered the question about what the Doctor was shooting.
