my issue here is that i find the claim decidedly at odds with canon, and i don't mean in an an extreme canon bordering on fanon kind of way. yes, i'm troubled by the lack of counter-claim but i'm also worried we might not be getting a counter-claim at this point because the real do feels the thing is a done enough deal they needn't stick their neck out. i'm not willing to let this one drop without being sure every person has sworn off being the cop or otherwise in possession of strong evidence weakening the claim.
if we get that, then i think we need to drop the lynch though i will still think taiga is probably lying, roled townies do that sometimes. if we do though we need to go through the other seven of us and decide who probably isn't scum from that list. e.g. if taiga isn't scum then you probably aren't either, and we reduce our presumed 2 in 8 odds down to 2 in 6, i think i'm not a realistic option either. we can't really look at who voted and who didn't, that never helps, nor who spoke for or against taiga, but we can look to see who else might have spoken in taiga's defense when if he's town and them scum it wouldn't benefit them, then pick out of that pool. Even 2 in 6 isn't too bad of odds for a random lynch though, not on day 1.
but i still want formal elimination of counter-claims first, because taiga's been hanging so close to lynch that a cop or similar might have decided that claiming wasn't necessary, in which case staying quiet would make sense.
