The attacks were actually stopped pretty fast, but the lights weren’t restored until somewhere in the early hours of the morning. The brig obviously wasn’t a high priority on the maintenance crew’s list. When all prisoner’s slowly wake up, Michael Garibaldi walks in. He looks like hell. Or as if he’s going straight to hell. And he’s muttering, talking to himself.
"It was just a try-out. They just wanted to test our defenses. Which means that they don’t have the data crystal yet. That’s good news. This all-out war between the Narns and the Centauri is already getting out of hand and if the strategic information that’s on there falls into Centauri hands..."
He blinks once. He blinks again. He pinches his eyes with his right hand and shakes himself awake, clearly only now remembering that the brig is full of suspects.
"Euhm. Well, anyway, forget I said that, OK? It’s best none of us know what’s on that data crystal. It’s enough that I want it back."
He looks around.
"Maybe it’ll go a bit faster if I don’t lock you all up in your own rooms during the Night. It's not like you're going elsewhere. I need to be at a hundred different places at once, all of which are ‘not here’. Contact me when you have one of your own to hand over, but until then: enjoy your stay. Food will be brought up through there”, he says pointing towards a cargo elevator door, ”enjoy and bring me back that data crystal."
He turns around and walks away.
