Michael Garibaldi, security chief on Babylon 5, walks into his brig, looking over those assembled there.
“Just look at you, all just dirty little scum. I know you are all guilty, I just don’t know what you are guilty of. Yet. But I will find out, don’t you worry. Don’t you worry. Right now, I am most interested in the perps who stole a certain data crystal from Ambassador Delenn’s quarters. Needless to say: she wants it back. I just don’t have the time and personal to spare with you, because of preparation for the upcoming attack. But we should hurry, because I’ve got the feeling the Centauri will be here soon enough. I kept telling the Captain he shouldn’t piss Londo off, but did he listen? Noooooo, of course not! He just had to...”
“Chief! CHIEF!” Zack interrupts, giving his boss a significant look.
“Oh. Eh sorry. You’re right. I shouldn’t be saying this. Well, where was I? Oh right, the data crystal. Well, as I said, I don’t have time to question you myself, but the best way to catch a thief, is with another thief. And you are all thieves. I just know that. You will question each other and hand me one of yourselves as soon as you decide who the guilty party is. We will take it from there. And remember: the sooner you point me towards the perps, the better. You might even be able leave before those Battle Cruisers get here.”
He turns around and walks away, together with his staff. Those assembled turn towards each other with a nervous look on their faces. What now? Who shall they turn over first? And how will they make sure they don’t get turned over themselves? Because Garibaldi may be a wise ass, but he’s also right about one thing: they ALL have something to hide. In the midst of the very diverse group (humans, Narns, Brakiri, pak'ma'ra), a Drazi is the first to speak up. With the characteristic grin of his species he says: “So? Who has anything to share?“
