Judging by the nature of the opening flavor text, and the nature of Mafia, I think it's pretty unlikely we're gods.

In any case, I'm not.


Neither am I.

So, I've been thinking about what I think is a core question of the game: What would constitute scum?


I've said it before, but I don't think all scum will necessarily be flavor-indicated. Yes, maybe we'll have Bellerophon here who is scum because of his arrogance and whatnot. But we could very easily have a person like Odysseus (just to name someone who is most likely to be "obviously" good) who in this game is secretly evil and wants to overthrow the gods.
*Probably-Needless-Disclaimer: I'm speaking hypothetically, not accusing Odysseus or Bellerophon if they happen to be here.*

1. We are all from stories, very likely Greek myth (thought not necessarily. In my Marvel Comics game, I imported a DC character. I could easily see Kronin importing a Roman mythic figure, or someone from an Eastern religion or something. Possibly a Jewish figure (Christianity and Islam aren't around yet, so...)


I don't know if Christianity and Islam are ruled out because of the time period, this is a special, magical setting, so there's wiggle room for it, but I do think they are unlikely.

But I do think it's very possible that we have a imported character here. I wouldn't be surprised to see King Arthur.

2. It's around the time of the Trojan War. Odysseys is pretty much a given to be in here, because he's so awesome.


Possibly, as I said before, I'm not sure if the exact time period will have much of an impact.

3. "Some amongst you have thought of turning against the gods, and fighting for evil." That's a big one. Does it mean that some heroes that we would recognize, such as Heracles (Hercules? I forget which is Greek), or Perseus (the guy that killed Medusa) are now evil? Or does it mean that there are pre-existing opponents of the Gods, like Titans, or... I don't know, various monsters, are here?


I think the scum will be somewhat diverse. Some will be semi-shady characters, some will be above suspicion yet evil in this game.

Basically, if someone is confirmed to be Hercules, does that mean they are confirmed to be "good?" Impossible to tell, for now.


Especially since it depends on the version and interpretation of the character. And then on what Kronin decides to do with them.

Is anyone here someone we would consider to be a "good" monster? Dunno if that's something you'd want to share, but it would definitely shed some light on the situation.


I'm all for adding Human/Nonhuman to the information tables.
