Yes, I know it seems a bit silly. However, it has some grounding.
This is a crossover game. Crossover games INEVITABLY have that "Whoa, awesome" factor. Moreover, this is a PIRATE NINJA ZOMBIE (and robot? I forget) game. Ranagrande wants awesomeness.
My guess, from previous scheming with ranagrande, is that this is true but that his idea of awesome may not match yours and is very unlikely to just happen to match up with your WAG (Wild A$$ guess)
Now, how many "awesome" pirates are there, especially from the settings listed? I don't see any "18th-century privateers" listed in the setting. There's pretty much just Captain Morgan.
Okay, this does make a little more sense, but you might be fixating on that second word, if the DFs contain characters he listed, then "Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot Monkey Clowns" would indicate we're facing 6 DFs on one team, and that makes us seriously up the creek. Also, keep in mind that Captain Morgan is a real person, Henry Morgan, and also that it was only one of five options, at least four fake, and he didn't say pirate, he said booze island, which incidentally is also a real place located a few hundred miles dead north of my home. I'll grant it's an option but really beet, there's like a 1 in 5 chance if he's telling the truth he's even from there, and if he is a DF, lower than 1 in 5 since he has motive to lie. There are tons of alcohol related mascots, many made up just for TV like Pawtucket Pat and Duffman, you really could be right, and for that matter he could be scum just not Morgan, give me something else tangible and I might jump on board your ship, no pun intended, but for the moment, that's too thin for me. If you've got some special knowledge or a hint to back this up, just put it out, if not, I can't see this lynch going anywhere.
Captain Morgan is a GREAT choice for a character. And while I'm tempted to just go with F-T and vote for Isaac (remember two games ago? We ignored him then...), for now I'm willing to at least watch and see what else he does.
You were right to ignore him then, his reasoning was poor, he said it made sense to lynch him then said I must be guilty because I agreed, trust me I would have done the same if I'd been town. Currently he is using the argument that because I suggested there are occasions a day 1 no lynch might profit the town, I must be black, and somehow my not objecting to never no-lynching when I was a DF is proof that now that I am objecting I might be a DF. If it were anyone other than me he was saying this about people would be scratching their heads in bewilderment. Never trust a line of reasoning on things like this if their summary doesn't make sense but the long part does:
1. X says no-lynch on day 1 may be an option
2. X says as a DF he was fine with always lynching, and liked it
3. X objects to a 100% no-use policy on day 1 no-lynching
From this it follows that Isaac is a DF... by the way, where is all the vocal support from me for never no-lynching? I wouldn't be surprised if I'd spoken up in favor of the policy at some point - I do lie when I'm a DF sometimes - but I can't recall strongly arguing for this in the past. I do remember specifically avoiding a thread on it in the previous crossover day 1 thread, kinda weird for a lot of posts on a subject like that without me weighing in, and I was town, it's almost like I didn't really agree but I didn't want to risk losing shy-voters, huh, sort of like I said to FT today. Actually I think I've avoided formally backing it even when I was a DF, but that also wouldn't prove anything, since DFs lie.
Vote for Talic! He is Captain Morgan! (or possibly a cereal mascot, and those freaks are INSANE, good riddance...)
Beet, this isn't even FOS worthy, let alone lynchworthy, look, let's use the Nipz Template of Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot Monkey Clowns and see where this fits in on anyone except as a very tangential off hand thing.
Artsapat
Professional Wrestling - Not a lot of ninjas, pirate, zombie, monkeys, or clowns/robots
Monopoly, The Game - There's a battleship I think
American Idol - I really have no idea, seems unlikely
GI Joe - Short of clowns pretty much all of the above I think, but not really as major villians except maybe ninja
The Apprentice - I don't believe so
beetnemesis
Sluggy Freelance - Some sort of webocminc, I've no idea
Advertising Mascots - Uh, lots of crazy cereal mascots here too, and pirates
Christian Folklore - I suppose if you count Jesus or LAzarus as a zombie, otherwise no
Jewish Folklore - same
James Bond - Same as Gi- joe, plenty of all Nipz, and few of them good
BlackAdder
The Jungle Book - Got a monkey IIRC, but not bad
Aesop's Fables - Again, monkey
The Chronicles of Narnia - Clean of all, no monkey jus tthe Jesus-Alegory-Lion
Garfield - No pirates, zombies, etc, no bad guys at all
The Wind in the Willows - all animals, I don't recall a monkey
Darth_Katie
Looney Toons - I'm not even sure who qualifies as a bad guy here, maybe yosemite sam and the cat
Dexter's Lab - Havne't watched in a while, but he had an archnemsis who was a kid, not pirate, zombie, etc.
Barbie - Unless one counts Mattel as a soulless machine and therefore robot, I think this is absent of Nipz
The Simpsons - Outside of halloween specials and one-shots, no Nipz
South Park - Kenny as a zombie maybe
Fox and Ravens
Star Trek - No ninjas, no real pirates, the only major robot is Data, a good guy. I don't remember any prominent zombies or monkeys or clowns
Sonic - Dr. Robotnik, so there's one, and a decent correlation
A Song of Ice and Fire - Zombies I suppose, and pirates
Spaceballs - Robots
Willy Wonka-verse - Not that I recall
So fox maybe, but besides sonic, not strong.
Hobo
Shakespeare plays - No
Wheel of Time - No, just no
Enders Series - No ninjas, no robot, clowns, zombies, nadda, one benevolent AI, and some aliens who aren't exactly bad.
Robin Hood - Well the nominal pirates here are the good guys, and they aren't pirates
Greek Myths - Big stretch, I can't think of any popular ones with Nipz
Isaac
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - This is like all martial arts, ninja and samurai, and like all comic books lots of other crap.
Indiana Jones - Bad guyz = nazis
Marvel Comics - Yes on pretty much all fronts
Whedonverse - Main bad guys are vampires, not zombies
Dark Shadows - Also vampires
Kronin al'Sulc
Dr. McNinja - I'm assuming ninja as a hero
Barbieverse - Yeah, covered this, no
Clue - All normal humans IIRC
Pokemon - I've no clue, lots of martial arts I assume so maybe ninja
American Idol - No
Kylia Skydancer
Buffyverse - Vamps
The Sixth Sense - No
Captain Planet - Dr. Blight, Verminous Skumm, Duke Nukem, Hoggish Greedly, Zarm, Looten Plunder, and Sly Sludge. None of those are Nipz
Sherlock Holmes - Dr. Moriarity was no clown, ninja, robot, etc
The DC Universe - Like Marvel or TMNT, all of the above and more
Napoleon62
Mario-land - Some sort of dragon-thingy who lives in a sewer
Narnia - Again, nope
Wheel of Time - No
Portal-land - If he means the game Portal, then I suppose a robot, but no cake there.
Winnie the Pooh-land - Are there even any bad guys in this?
Talic
The Land of General Mills - Well, Captain Crunch might be a pirate, and Frankenberry might count as a zombie
Booze Island - As mentioned this is a real place, but most alcohol mascots are benevolent bringers of alcohol, but Pirate is a decent guess
Sports Mascot Battle Royale! - I'm assuming he means major sports mascots, these are usually irritating animal-thingies, mostly birds not monkeys
KIKKOMAN The Original Teriyaki sauce! - Much to my surprise, there is actually a Kikkoman mascot called Kikko-man, the soy sauce warrior, he has a fish for a head. He appears to be benovelent
Q is for Dr. Tran! - Even with wiki I couldn't make heads or tails of tis, apparently some internet meme, not villianous I think
So Talic's answer all seem absurd, and this leads me to conclude that his real one actually is, even if he's scummer, since I don't think he'd have made all that crap up when in theory a DF should have wanted to try to stick to ones others used, at least for some. Anyway, he gave UNC/UNC for answers. Captain Morgan is very 1600's, he could easily be lying about this but an UNC for modern Earth was pretty clearly defined as closer to now than that. It is a weird selection though, I'll grant you that
White Flame of Tar Valon
American Idol - No
Les Miserables - No
Phantom of the Opera - No
Smallville - Well it's DC comics, so pretty much everything
Chicago - I wouldn't think so
Yunalesca
The DC verse - Yeah, everything
Buffyverse - Vampires and demons etc
H20 just add water - wiki indicates the case is all teenage mermaids
The Office - human
Dollhouse - I don't watch, but I think it's Nipz free
So yeah, I get what you're saying, and maybe are villians are Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot Monkey Clowns, or some of those, one of each, but that's sort of the cliche list of villians, randomly many will hit that, here's a quick list of the top twenty comic book villains of all times, where our six cliches would tend to be higher density, but starting with #1, we;ve got a hit. I'm not going to go down the list one by one, just paste it, if he'd included mutant I think we'd be at nearly 100%, and this is just comic uber-villians, monkeys and pirates rarely feature as supervillians, but we've every reason to think lesser baddies ar ein play, and the Nipz list does include a lot of the default minions. Still, if we're going to take him that literally, in spite of the unlikelihood we have 6 DFs, on of each, in a single faction, then we need to take Jester's very seriously indeed and that seems almost at odds with including clowns, unless we have a DF traitor finally, in which case I think his covers blown.
