Those were excellent points and mirror my feelings. If Biden had stopped at saying he only did what any father would do for his son, he might have been more sympathetic. But in what can only be indicative of his continuing mental decline, he prattled on about a travesty of justice and politically motivated prosecution designed to hurt him personally via his son. Practically quoting Trump.
And people call me a cynic.
The other upside, besides death of the moral high ground, is that now with a blanket pardon he can be compelled to testify to a grand jury or to Congress. You can't claim Fifth Amendment protection when you can't incriminate yourself.
