who now are no longer planning on voting blue in November. And I am not alone among my gay friends here in Massachusetts. Massachusetts has a shelter law about housing illegal immigrants. And let's just say that the tactics of Abbott and DeSantis to make the border issue a national issue succeeded. And my friends do remember that it was Harris who was appointed to deal with the border and that didn't go to the border for a simple photo op. Or do much of anything. And as a legal immigrant to this country, I am not alone in my views about this among fellow immigrants (though historically, Russian-Americans are a right leaning bunch due to fearing totalitarian leftists far more than people who want to leave us alone).
Of course there is going to be so much enthusiasm for Harris. It is to be expected. I am waiting for things to stabilize, for Harris to choose Mark Kelly as her VP, and then to see what updated polls look like.
You’re right there are many who will no longer vote Blue mostly due to crime and immigration issues. But I do wonder if the Black support for Trump will hold up. Sure Kamala is Indian, Jamaican, or Black depending on her audience. But I wonder if some will vote for her anyway on that basis.
We will see. I will not say what else could possibly go wrong because this cycle has been insane enough without me adding the mal occhio.
