An op-ed by a law professor, no less. It was pretty remarkable to witness someone ostensibly familiar with First Amendment jurisprudence saying that college kids in the States chanting "from the river to the sea" constitutes an incitement to imminent lawless action. But, as you've said, activists have been claiming for a long time that transphobia, homophobia, and other forms of bigotry also meet this standard, when they rather clearly do not.
Yeah I have much less of a problem with protestors chanting slogans, which is their right however offensive, than with said protestors chasing fellow students who support Israel into a library where they had to barricade themselves in for protection.
Sadly the predictable response will be more restriction by broadening the definition of hate speech to include the protests rather than acknowledging the fallacy of trying to eliminate microaggressions and letting viewpoints be debated openly, as they should in a college setting.
