I'd say work meetings are politely (though not always) worded kangaroo courts. Or circular firing squads. One must hop in such situations.

I apologize, but I have a hard time empathizing with verb choice, when the contents of the meetings I'm hopping into and out of are infuriating and insulting to the intelligence of a two year old.
