I haven't been able to get the will to watch s8. By episode 7, I was so turned off that I simply read the spoilers for the episode, and every word of those spoilers reinforced my decision to not watch.
Unless I hear of some heretofore unsurpassed upsurge in quality in s2, I won't be watching anymore.
I had no issues with several of their changes, but leaving the core characters more or less intact was the one major rule for me, and that was exactly what they proceeded to do, in a cheesy and badly written fashion.
There are several people on this board who would probably produce better scripts that are truer to the books while truncating them. Some, like Cannoli's likely 8 episode fest of Egwene murdering babies and eating them, will maybe have comedic value at least. But I'm very doubtful Rafe Judkins and his crew will much exceed the amateur screenwriting we saw in season 1.
