I guess I'm just trying to reconcile how you go from not trusting her judgment (which sounds like a reasonable opinion for you to have) to thinking she should be in charge of more of their lives. So my advice, FWIW, is to make sure you're doing what you believe to be in your kids' best interest above all else.

It would be better for them to have two parents not in constant conflict with each other. Trust me, it did not come easy. But this fight took its toll on my well-being, which is not good for them either. I simply have to trust her, or else try to get them full-time. That isn't easy here, unless the situation is really bad. We took some help from the social services last year in some kind of "cooperation talk", so they know about the situation and raised no concerns. In fact, they thought we cooperated quite well because we could sit in the same room and talk (with them around).
