Regarding your history stuff, while accurate, I think it does skip over the Southern strategy, where the former solid Democrat South became pretty solid Republican, and I feel that does tarnish the Republican party somewhat when it comes to that side of things.
The southern strategy is a conspiracy theory and a myth. Compare the "facts" from both sides and decide. A little bit of research from sources other than the leftist "group think"/"cognitive dissonance" bubble will reveal as much.
Well, there is a fair bit of debate, yes, and I don't think that Nixon was trying to use racism to change the vote there, but I do think there was a strategy to try and improve the republican vote there - but seemed more around state rights / law and order / stronger border controls, but as an unintended result it does seem to me that people that were racist and previously voted Democrat, started voting Republican instead - and while not necessarily the intent of the leaders, does mean that people who are racist towards people of colour at least these days are more likely to vote Republican than Democrat, and unintended consequence or not, I think it means the Republican party doesn't have quite the clean sheet that they used to have.
I won't comment on the stuff around the democrat's approaches, cancel culture etc, as not from USA as not close enough to know how accurate that is.
This is absolutely relevant to the conversation. Its pertinent to the "validity" and "righteousness" of their cause.
It might be to that part of the conversation, but I was just responding to points that interest me, and I guess from what I've seen, I don't see too much difference in apparent racism between Biden and Trump, so didn't necessarily find the OP fair in targetting one side, though have had that conversation with damookster and can see why he posted it.
At same time, I can see it is relevant to your voting decisions if that is how you feel about the democrat party, but your decision on who to vote for is your own, so I don't feel need to comment much on that side.
