They are also talking about the king of Nilfgaard wasting money on self-indulgence, while in Geralt's story, the miners mention a past revolt against a King of Nilfgaard with similar faults. So Geralt is dealing with Temeria after the council is discussing Calanthe, but we don't know where on his timeline his adventures in Temeria or with the elves & the bard in the prior episode occur.

By now you should've already gotten Yennefer's backstory, right? That part, as well as the Renfri plotline for Geralt, are set decades before the fall of Cintra - suggesting that witchers and mages don't visibly age, or only extremely slowly. The 'present day' of the first season really only covers a few weeks at most, but large parts of the show are set much earlier. They don't exactly explain any of that, the viewer just has to piece it all together.
