Scared, because there's definitely more of this kind of thing going on, and HIPAA is just too weaksauce to prevent it.
Hopeful both because for all the fear of Google having access to this data to train their alogirthms, I'm eager to see what they come up with. We are definitely at the cusp of some real healthcare transformations based on machine learning and our facility with big data, <I>if we leverage these technologies with care.
Also hopeful that such stories will have a bipartisan impact and give us laws like GDPR. California has a good template. Time to get federal laws up to snuff.
