The books have too many story lines so I thought it would be best to just get rid of them all except for Perrin's quest to rescue Faile from the Shaido. I was a bit disheartened to see that they had cast Moiraine because it means they either didn't go the direction I wanted, or they tried to wedge Moiraine into Perrin's quest.

I think it could be pretty great. Imagine the first episode: A bearded man trudges through the snow while the opening credits play. The opening credits finish and that man continues to walk through the snow dramatically for several more minutes. Eventually the man turns around and walks back the way he came. He arrives at a collection of tents and yells at another guy "Did you find her!?". The guy responds, "No, Lord Perrin". The audience gets goosebumps at the reveal, depressing violin music starts playing, and the ending credits roll. Boom. Masterpiece.
This was kind of awesome. And it means we get to keep the silk-washing scene, which is a subject of intense and passionate fan opinion.
