Yeast (or bacteria) making proteins such as insulin or the heme protein (found in hemoglobin, bacteria also does a similar thing with nitrogen fixing plants) is cool. After all this is very similar to yeast taking sugar and making beer. Having yeast making the proteins to make a plant based burger taste as almost as good as the real thing (this is what Impossible Burger does) is a good thing.
A similar process with Maggots making hotdogs is not the same thing.
Yeast is good, maggots is bad!

Sidenote in the last 24 hours Beyond Meat had its IPO on the nasdaq stock market (ticker symbol BYND). Trading started Wednesday. The initial IPO price was $25 and then it rose to $45 (at closing) and news stories started making a big deal that this was a big change and it was underpriced with its IPO. At the time of writting the stock price for BYND is $62.80 and for a brief second the high of the stock was $72.95
I hoped no employees at Beyond Meat with stock options sold their stock during the first day for that is a big deal selling at $25 vs $62.80. If some employee did I hoped they are given some nice vodka to dull their pain.
