Of course, that's another irritation. Captain Marvel's powers don't have much to do with the Tesseract. Since the Stone that is all about Power was the one Starlord stole, with Kree chasing it, it would probably have made more sense to have that one be the source of her powers. Maybe they could have had the post-credit scene of her putting in the place from which Quill stole it.
